There are 5 dwarf fruit trees (3 apples + 2 pears) here. The soil is heavier than elsewhere in the
garden so double rations of compost were required when planting them. With the fence behind,
the bed gets a lot of light and heat - the fruit trees providing shade only at one end.
Many bright and cheerful plants are grown in this area and often Pauline uses it to grow annuals
for cutting and bringing some of the garden inside the house.
